Description

Torslandaskolan F-6 is a newly built school with approximately 400 students in grades F-6 (preschool class to grade 6). The school also offers adapted primary education for students in grades 1–6 as well as a special education group (SU). Torslandaskolan is part of the Hisingen 11 school district, together with Torslandaskolan 7–9 and Noleredsskolan.

We offer you a workplace characterized by openness, well-being, and a welcoming atmosphere. We are a collegium where you can both inspire and be inspired. We have fantastic students who constantly inspire us to develop as educators.

We value that all students feel safe and have a conducive environment for studying. Student health and well-being is everyone's responsibility and starts in our classrooms. We have support from the student health team and a "norms and values group" that focuses on our common value-based work.

Responsibilities

We are now looking for a craft teacher who wants to teach our students in primary school (grades 3–6 and the SU group) as well as in adapted primary school (grades 1–6). The position primarily involves teaching in textile crafts.

You are responsible for planning, teaching, and follow-up in your subject. Together with your colleagues, you create conditions for the students' knowledge development. You are also responsible for collegial learning at the school and in the school district.

The school has actively worked for several years to implement Cooperative Learning (KL) as a method in our teaching. We see great success in this work as we notice that our students develop positively in many different ways by collaborating and working together under active teacher support.

To ensure that you as staff feel secure in your work group, the school works with Team and Leadership Development. We receive guidance from the Gothenburg Region to create safe and sustainable work teams. When you thrive with us, our students' knowledge increases.

To give newly graduated teachers the best possible start in their profession, you will be part of the Basic Education Administration's Teacher Academy introduction program for newly graduated teachers. The introduction gives you a network with other newly graduated teachers and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.

Qualifications

We are looking for an educated and licensed teacher with qualifications to teach textile crafts in grades F-6.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • an advanced special education degree with a focus on intellectual disability,
  • qualifications to teach crafts up to grade 9,
  • qualifications to teach in wood and metal crafts,
  • experience working with children with various types of functional variations, such as within NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders),
  • experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and/or language-developing approaches,
  • experience working in adapted primary school.

We believe that a good relationship between teacher and student is a fundamental basis for learning. As a teacher at our school, you are responsible for creating a good work climate as well as a calm, safe, and pleasant school environment for our students. You are expected to be a secure adult who is professional in your attitude and interaction with both students and adults.

Other

As an employee in our administration, you are offered among other things a wellness allowance, bicycle benefit, and employee support.

According to the Education Act, extracts from the police criminal record must be presented by persons before they are employed in preschool activities, school, and school-age childcare. You order this on the Police website.

In connection with this recruitment, we have taken a stance on recruitment channels and therefore decline further offers of competence mediation, advertising, and recruitment assistance.

We only accept applications via our recruitment system in accordance with GDPR.
