We are currently seeking an Student Coordinator for Nödingeskolan.

About the Workplace

Nödinge/Kyrkbyskolan is a primary school (grades F-6) located behind Ale Square in Nödinge. The school is divided into a lower school building and an intermediate school building on either side of a large schoolyard. The school has approximately 650 students.

Nödingeskolan is a PALS-certified school!

The PALS model means that the school works systematically with staff attitudes. Great importance is placed on a generally positive climate at the school, created by the adults. An important goal is to reach all students at the school. The model is based on several strategies that research shows have a significant impact on both mental health and academic results.

In the PALS model, all staff at the school work systematically with:

• attitudes, interactions, and shared understanding within the staff group,
• good relationships between students, as well as between students and staff,
• having rules in different areas of the school that are clear to everyone,
• a common view on reactions to negative behavior,
• problem-solving and conflict management,
• collaboration with parents.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to developing a modern after-school program where we focus on continuously improving the quality of education. Through clear responsibility and a curiosity to learn new things, we increase students' knowledge and provide them with access to a high-quality after-school care environment.

The role in the after-school center combines care with pedagogy, and you will inspire students to explore, learn, and discover new interests together with others in the after-school program. As a Student Coordinator, you will be offered a varied role where you will share responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education in the after-school center. During school hours, you will work in the classroom, where you will either support individual students or the whole group. Together with your colleagues, you will design a joyful and varied school day with the students' best interests at the forefront, where the school and after-school center have close cooperation.

At the after-school center, we work with pedagogical planning based on an annual calendar derived from the chapters on after-school care in the Swedish Curriculum for the Compulsory School System (Lgr11). This is to ensure systematic quality work and to make it visible to students and guardians.

At Nödingeskolan, we value the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We believe you want to develop in your role as a Student Coordinator and work systematically to improve teaching quality and contribute to the continued development of the activity.

Qualifications

You, the applicant, have completed upper secondary education and post-secondary education at least at the level of a University College degree (YH) with a focus on children and young people.

To thrive in this role, you need to be good at collaborating, flexible, and have relationship-building as one of your best skills. You also need to be a clear adult figure and have endurance. We would appreciate if you have work experience from after-school care and schools, but we are also curious about you if you are a recent graduate. Equivalent education may be of interest.

You have clear communication skills, understand the importance of being a team player, and contribute with a positive attitude. You are flexible, proactive, and have a solution-oriented operational focus with the student's development and well-being at the center.

Aside from qualifications, great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
