Orust Montessori School is now looking for a craft teacher (approx. 20%) for our lovely school in Henån, Orust Municipality.

Orust Montessori School is a free school with preschool, school, and after-school care for approximately 100 children aged 1–12. The school is located in Henån on the island of Orust, close to forests and the sea. The school operates as an economic association and has, since its founding in 1993, offered great commitment and pedagogical competence in the work of giving children the best possible start in life – with security, curiosity, knowledge, and self-confidence. The Montessori perspective on learning and development shapes our operations.

Responsibilities:

We are currently looking for a teacher in the subject of crafts (wood, metal, and textile) for grades 3-6, who is passionate about guiding young people in creative creation. As a teacher here, you will independently plan, evaluate, and follow up on your teaching, ensuring quality learning for the students based on our governing documents. Teaching takes place in groups of approximately 7-8 children, scheduled for one day per week (usually Thursdays), or alternatively two half-days.

Qualifications:

You are eligible and certified as a teacher in the relevant subject. You have experience in planning, conducting, and following up on teaching and student results. You have good organizational skills. You have clear leadership in the classroom and the ability to create a safe and varied learning environment characterized by high quality, study atmosphere, and a desire to learn. You have a good understanding of people's different prerequisites for acquiring knowledge. You are a secure and stable person with self-awareness. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Employment terms

The position is a permanent employment of approximately 20%. Start date autumn semester 2026. If you have eligibility in other subjects, there is an opportunity to expand the scope of employment.

Other

For those offered the position, a certificate of good conduct from the Swedish Police Authority is required, according to the Act on Register Checks.

Interviews are conducted continuously and may begin before the application deadline.
