The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for youths with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also operates closed youth care facilities. We operate youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS offers you a challenging and exciting career. Regardless of where you work within our organization or what your role is, you help create life-changing change.

About the position at SiS LVM Home Hornö

SiS LVM Home Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or combined substance abuse. We also admit men with mental health issues and men with externalizing behavior. Our mandate is to provide care for clients with specific care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing differences for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Coordinator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Coordinator, your base is on the ward, where you work in a team together with treatment pedagogues and treatment assistants. Together, you meet people in crisis and ensure that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need.

The work involves qualified nursing and motivational efforts, where you are a strong support in daily life. This may include being a contact person and helping to ensure daily routines run smoothly, such as cleaning and cooking. You actively contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and ensuring that treatment plans are followed.

In the role of Treatment Coordinator, you also have overall responsibility for the institution's program activities. This means you plan, implement, and follow up on program activities on all wards where there is a need, and you collaborate closely with other Treatment Coordinators at the institution. You should also be able to conduct treatment conversations when necessary and have special responsibility for documentation, treatment plans, and the forms and instruments used in treatment. Your duties also include an extended responsibility to serve as a methodological support on the ward, where you supervise and support both existing staff and new employees and interns.

This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our engagement, and our attitude.

You will work on a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training. The training alternates between theory and guided introduction, preparing you for the therapist role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, are empathetic, and can build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressurized situations. You also have a good ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues. You need to be good at planning and structuring your work, able to work independently, and take initiative. Since the treatment work is documented and discussed with several different actors, high demands are placed on good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.

You must also have:

  • A suitable university degree, for example, social worker, social pedagogue, or other healthcare/behavioral science education, or alternatively post-secondary education such as treatment pedagogue, with substantial experience in program activities.
  • Experience in conducting motivational and treatment work individually and/or in groups.
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.
  • Category B driver's license.

At SiS, we value good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
