Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS LVM-hem Hornö admits men with alcohol, drug, or polydrug addiction. We also admit men with mental health issues and men exhibiting acting-out behaviors. Our mandate is to provide care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to make a vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the position of Treatment Pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Pedagogue, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You ensure that routines on the ward function effectively.
You contribute to maintaining safety on the institution according to our routines, and documentation is a crucial part of your work. You will focus on building secure relationships and helping our clients gain the safety and security they need to break habitual behaviors. During the night shift, duties include cleaning, ordering groceries, and documentation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to the schedule for night shifts (awake nights).
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training. The course alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to creating life-changing change. Therefore, you must have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, strong empathetic abilities, and the capacity to build good relationships. You possess good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- A minimum 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be oriented towards social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
- Category B driver's license
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious experience includes:
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., within psychiatry, residential care (HVB), or healthcare and social services.

*Exceptions to the requirement of a minimum two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The position is a permanent part-time night shift role at 83.05%, starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
