Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also executes closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-hem Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or combined substance abuse. We receive men with mental health issues and men with externalizing behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and act as a support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines, and you help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with cleaning, cooking, etc. Contact person duties are also part of your responsibilities. The job may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule: day – evening and weekends.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, equipping you for the therapist role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS core values, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and easily build relationships with clients as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to cooperate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You must also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or education from a university that we assess as equivalent
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
