The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-home Hessleby, located in a beautiful forest environment just outside Mariannelund, receives men with alcohol, drug, or combined substance abuse. We have special competence to receive clients with mental health issues or aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of making a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people and clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our young people and clients, and handle the basics of daily life such as school attendance, cleaning, cooking, etc. You help maintain order and security on the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building safe relationships and contribute to ensuring that our young people and clients receive the security they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Qualifications
Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
- Category B driver's license
- Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing
Below are examples of merit-based requirements that can be used in recruitment (select what fits your specific recruitment process):
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., probation officer
- Security guard training
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., case officer at the detention center
- Education within care and nursing
- Experience working with our target group (e.g., addiction care, youth care, young girls, etc.)

*Exceptions to the requirement of at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The position is a hourly-based employment. Start date by agreement.
