Romaskolan is a grades F-9 school, located just over 15 minutes from Visby, where knowledge, safety, study environment, and dedicated staff are a consistent thread throughout the operations. We have approximately 330 students. At Romaskolan, the staff works closely together, contributing to a positive and pleasant work environment. We have an open-door policy where everyone's ideas and opinions are a valuable addition to the school.

The strength of our school is that everyone knows each other well, which creates a sense of security and allows us to give the students that little extra. Romaskolan is part of the Roma school area, along with the schools Endre, Kräklingbo, Dalhem, and Vänge. Students from these schools are bused to us at Romaskolan to varying extents for instruction in several subjects.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of a teacher for the leisure-time center (fritidshem), your primary task will be working at the leisure-time center, as well as in the classroom. At certain times, you will work independently with parts of the group based on planning from the responsible teacher.

The position involves close collaboration with leisure-time colleagues and class teachers. You will be part of a team with leisure-time teachers, teachers, and special education teachers who collaborate closely regarding the students and the pedagogical activities. At the leisure-time center, you and several colleagues plan and carry out varied activities for the students. Time for planning is provided.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are certified or awaiting certification as a teacher in leisure-time centers/leisure-time pedagogy.

Experience working in leisure-time centers and in school grades F-6 is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have good experience working with digital tools. You should be well-versed in the steering documents and mission of the school and leisure-time center. You preferably have good experience with safety work and recess activities. Your view of children is characterized by respect and a belief that all children can and want to develop. You have high expectations for the students, and it is important to you that students are motivated and that they thrive in school and at the leisure-time center.

You collaborate and communicate with your colleagues and create a pedagogical learning environment that challenges and stimulates students' development and learning, while ensuring that students are offered secure care. It is important that you build good relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues, characterized by mutual respect, trust, and positive expectations.
