About the role
We are now looking for a Controller for our finance department, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. You will have a central role focusing on the company's property projects and investments, becoming part of an experienced and engaged team of six people responsible for the company's accounting, reporting, and financial follow-up. The team is characterized by high competence, open collaboration, and shared responsibility.
Your main responsibilities
As a Controller, you work with follow-up, budgeting, and forecasting processes and are responsible for reporting to management and the board. You have special responsibility for the financial follow-up of the company's property projects regarding renovation, maintenance, and new production, in close collaboration with property management, operations, and property development.
The work involves preparing and quality-assuring investment calculations, following up on costs and forecasts, and ensuring correct handling in the income statement and balance sheet, including capitalization in the fixed asset register and assessing investment versus maintenance.
In dialogue with managers and project leaders, you act as a financial partner and contribute with analysis and structure in matters concerning investments and ongoing operations. You also participate in the work with internal reports, key figure analyses, and monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts. The assignment includes supporting managers and employees in financial matters and assisting the Finance Manager and other colleagues in the finance department with investigations and tasks that may arise within the department's scope. You also share system responsibility for the company's follow-up and analysis systems as well as parts of the property system.
Who are you?
To be considered for the role, you must meet the following criteria:
- We are looking for someone with a university degree in economics or other relevant post-secondary education. However, the most important factor is your background and your ability to independently work with financial follow-up of property projects.
- You have several years of experience in controlling within property companies and have worked with residential properties.
- The role requires work with project or property controlling linked to investments.
- You are accustomed to working with investment calculations, project follow-up, and capitalization in the fixed asset register, and have a good understanding of how investments affect the income statement and balance sheet.
- You have a solid foundation in property economics, accounting, and VAT issues, and work comfortably in Excel with good system proficiency.
Personal qualities/skills:
As a person, you are collaborative and thrive in a role with many contact points. You are confident and clear in your assessments and have integrity in your approach.
With a solution-oriented and humble attitude, you contribute structure, build trust in the organization, and ensure that financial frameworks and principles are followed.
