Linnéskolan – The School in the City Center

Linnéskolan is looking for you who wants to help shape tomorrow's school and after-school center in Eksjö. Linnéskolan is the school in the city center with approximately 320 students from preschool class to year 6. The school's central location creates good conditions for utilizing the municipality's offerings regarding culture, sports, and parks. Approximately 50 educators and other key personnel work at the school, with the common goal that all students should feel well, be safe, and succeed in their schoolwork. The school's work is characterized by a collaborative culture where we are happy to share with each other and help out.

The after-school center at Linnéskolan is currently divided into two departments: a larger department for preschool class up to year 2, and a department for students from year 3 and upwards. During the year, we have developed clubs based on students' interests, including Minecraft, Pokémon, drama, and other interest areas sparked by the students. At the after-school center, Eksjö Municipality's lead teachers in after-school activities work, meaning that a focus on development is a large part of the after-school program both at Linnéskolan and in the municipality.

Job Responsibilities

As a primary school teacher with a focus on after-school activities, your task is to create situations together with your colleagues where students succeed, develop, and thrive. You and your colleagues should stimulate students' development and learning, placing great emphasis on creating a meaningful leisure time for students at Linnéskolan's after-school center.

You are responsible, together with your colleagues both within and between departments, for planning, teaching, documenting, and following up on teaching in the after-school center based on our governing documents.

During the school day, we work to ensure your competencies are utilized. This can involve everything from conducting recess activities, creating safety in the classroom, to supporting students during lessons and transitions.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a primary school teacher degree with a focus on after-school activities, or alternatively, a trained early childhood educator who has work experience in the profession or has recently graduated. Applicants with other pedagogical qualifications may also be considered. Experience working in an after-school center is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You have good knowledge of the national governing documents for after-school activities and are confident in your relations with students, colleagues, and guardians. You want to take responsibility for and develop the after-school activities at the school. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You operate from the premise of equal value for all and create a good atmosphere in interactions. You gain energy from contributing to others' learning and you create conditions for learning to take place. With your engagement, you create motivation, and each student is met based on their prerequisites; you have good knowledge of people's different abilities to absorb knowledge.

With a positive attitude, you base your work on the student's ability to develop socially and academically in your collaboration with other teacher categories at the school. You have clear communication, understand the importance of being a team player, and contribute with a positive spirit. You are flexible, initiative-taking, and have a solution-oriented operational focus with the student's development and well-being in focus.
