The EU Coordination Unit within the Government Offices of Sweden is responsible for coordinating the Government Offices' EU work. The EU Coordination Unit works for the efficient implementation of Swedish EU policy.

The Office for the General Affairs Council and Coreper I works for the efficient implementation of the Government's EU policy within the policy areas handled by Coreper I, including climate, energy, environment, competitiveness, research, regulatory simplification, and social issues. Coreper is the Committee of Permanent Representatives in the EU, tasked with preparing the work of the Council; among other things, Coreper handles all items decided upon by the ministers.
The Office is also responsible for the General Affairs Council and the EU Minister's travels and meetings.
We are looking for a Secretary to the Office, primarily tasked with handling the Office's weekly Coreper work. The role involves close contact with the representation in Brussels and with EU coordinators in other ministries. There may be periods of high workload and fast pace. Duties also include handling visits and meetings, as well as certain mail handling tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the Office's Coreper work, I/A items
- Mail handling
- Meeting management and other administrative support
- Handling certain visit- and travel-related matters

Your background
We are looking for you who have completed upper secondary education with passing grades and have good ability to express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. You also have documented experience of independent work with qualified administrative tasks.
Relevant post-secondary education, experience from working with similar tasks in the Government Offices, other politically governed organizations, or state authorities, and knowledge of EU work are considered meritorious.

To succeed and thrive in the role, you must also be responsible, meticulous, and independent, with very good judgment and high integrity. You are accustomed to working with many different contact surfaces, which requires you to be driven, service-oriented, and have excellent collaboration skills. Since the work environment is largely influenced by the intense external situation, you must be solution-oriented and good at structuring, organizing, and following up on new tasks and administrative processes.

The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period of 6 months.
Earliest possible start.
Scheduled standby work, including work in the evenings and on weekends, is part of the job and occurs regularly.
The position is security-classified, and a security check with register control will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. You must be a Swedish citizen, but may have a foreign background.
