We at Kungsängsgymnasiet in beautiful Sala are now looking for an engaged teacher for the Childcare and Leisure program. As a teacher here, you will teach core subjects within the Childcare and Leisure program. You will become part of an engaged team and have close collaboration with colleagues within the program.

About the workplace

Kungsängsgymnasiet is a modern upper secondary school with approximately 480 students. We offer eight national programs as well as the Introductory Program. Our goal is for every student to succeed, and for three years we have received support in our work from the Swedish National Agency for Education's initiative "Collaboration for the Best School".

Students feel safe and enjoy being at the school, which is reflected in our safety surveys, and we have a high proportion of qualified teachers. At our school, it is important that both students and staff are seen and that students receive the support they need. We work actively to create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone is given the opportunity to develop and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

You will teach vocational subjects such as Pedagogy, Special Education, Ethnicity and Cultural Encounters, and Basic Care and Nursing. APL (Work Integrated Learning) and mentorship are included in the position. You will become part of an engaged team and collaborate closely with colleagues within the program and subject groups.

We are looking for you who

  • Are a certified teacher within the Childcare and Leisure program or have documented experience from preschool or school, with a strong commitment to teaching and student guidance.
  • Have good collaboration skills and are easy to build professional relationships with students, colleagues, and other staff.
  • Are a clear and confident leader with high expectations of students' ability to succeed.
  • Are flexible and creative in your approach and accustomed to using digital tools and ICT in teaching.
  • Are engaged in developing your role as a teacher and contribute ideas to strengthen the quality of teaching and the school's development.
  • Hold a valid B-class driver's license.
  • Personal suitability is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Vocational teacher degree with certification at the upper secondary level within vocational subjects/courses within the Childcare and Leisure program.
  • Other education within pedagogical work that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Substantial work experience in the field.

Merits

  • Good pedagogical and didactic skills as well as experience teaching/guiding students at the upper secondary level.
  • Good IT proficiency and experience with digital systems and tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in supervising students during APL (Work Integrated Learning).

Terms of Employment

Permanent full-time position.

Individual salary setting.

Start date: August 10, 2026, or as agreed.

Requirement for a police certificate upon job offer. This is according to the Act on Register Control in School, Leisure, and Preschool Activities. The Swedish Police Authority's criminal record register, RPS 442.5 (14-01-14).
