We are looking for 4-6 teaching assistants for a fixed-term position at the Department of Science and Technology during the autumn term of 2026.

Background

The Department of Science and Technology offers courses for Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering programs, within areas such as mechanics, strength of materials, energy technology, materials science, solid modeling, drawing techniques, and more. These courses include laboratory sessions and exercises.

Responsibilities

To provide guidance to students during laboratory sessions and exercises. The primary focus is on modules in courses MT127G and MT513G in study period one, and MT103G in study period two. In addition to these duties, teaching assistants are expected to pursue their own studies at Örebro University.

Qualifications

To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to a first-cycle or second-cycle education. Furthermore, we would prefer that you have studied mechanical engineering and specifically have taken one or more of the courses mentioned under responsibilities. You should be familiar with our CAD system, Creo Parametric.

We are looking for someone who has shown interest in educational and student issues during their studies. Experience in similar activities is highly meritorious. We place emphasis on your personal qualities, such as your ability to work independently, your good teamwork skills, and your service-oriented attitude.

In the selection process, a mixed group of teaching assistants will be sought, including regarding their own background in the different engineering specializations where the courses are included.

Information

The employment is fixed-term for the whole or part of the autumn term 2026, with start date and scope (part-time) depending on the tasks that become relevant and what is agreed upon, taking into account your own studies and area of competence. Salary is paid in accordance with the local collective agreement.

Teaching assistants may be employed for a maximum of one year at a time. The total employment period for a teaching assistant may not exceed three years.
