About the position

Mellringeskolan (lower and middle school) will need a music teacher for approximately 60% in the autumn. The position includes teaching students from Närkes Kils School (grades 4-6) once a week. As a music teacher with us, you will become part of an engaged team working together to promote learning and development.

In the role of a teacher, it is important that you have the ability to act as a bridge in students' journey between stages and guide them towards increased independence, while sparking their interest through varied teaching. Furthermore, we see you as a secure person who naturally and intuitively adapts your teaching to your students' different prerequisites.

Examples of tasks:

• planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching
• actively work to meet students where they are and strive to give them the best possible conditions for success in school
• work to ensure that all students feel safe and have a conducive study environment at school
• participate actively in the school's systematic quality work
• collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and potential external authorities and organizations

About the workplace

Since January 2025, Mellringeskolan has been a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with approximately 500 students and 80 staff members. The majority of students report in the school's safety survey that they enjoy being at school, and we adults assume that students want to succeed. The school has a student health team consisting of a counselor, special educator, special needs teacher, and school leadership. The group meets once a week to follow up on student-related work. Students also meet the school's student coordinators who create safety in hallways and during breaks. Our after-school leader keeps the cafeteria open and organizes various activities for the middle school students. Mellringeskolan is a school with confidence in the future where, through the recent merger, we are creating forms of collaboration that will secure the student's entire school journey from pre-school class to grade 9 – and you are part of making a difference.

Qualifications

As a teacher, it is important that you have good collaboration skills where you listen and communicate, and contribute to a calm and safe school environment. You should also have knowledge of child development and learning, as well as the ability to adapt teaching based on the group and individual students' needs and prerequisites. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• teaching license with eligibility to teach music for grades 1-6, or alternatively a degree that qualifies for a license
