Wasaskolan is located near large green areas and features a newly renovated schoolyard that provides excellent opportunities for breaks and outdoor activities. The school offers bright, well-maintained premises with ample natural light as well as a new cafeteria. We also have a nice school library staffed by a qualified librarian. Wasaskolan is a comprehensive school (Grades F–9) with approximately 530 students and is also an adapted comprehensive school, which creates good opportunities for inclusion and collaboration. Here, you will meet a large student health team as well as a well-functioning administration and maintenance department, providing good conditions for you as a teacher to focus on teaching. In total, we are approximately 80 employees working together for the students' learning and development.

A Day at Work

You are responsible for and conduct teaching in the subject of Modern Languages, specifically Spanish, in grades 6–9. Your closest colleagues are the other teachers who teach Modern Languages at the school. You conduct teaching in an inspiring, exciting, developmental, and inclusive manner with the students' development and learning as the focus. The position also includes other usual teacher duties such as planning, collegial collaboration, assessment, conferences, classroom maintenance, and contact with guardians. You focus on the quality of teaching through recurring reflection and analysis of pedagogical leadership as well as goal- and result-oriented management. You are part of the 7–9 grade work team where you support and help each other in the social work regarding students and plan towards achieving the highest possible goal fulfillment. In the lower secondary school, we work with senior mentors who are responsible for the social work regarding the students, which gives you as a teacher the opportunity to focus on conducting and developing high-quality teaching.

The work starts in connection with the start of the autumn term on August 10, 2026.

Who are you?

Requirements:

  • Degree and teacher certification in Modern Languages, Spanish.
  • You are well acquainted with the school as an organization and are familiar with assignments and governing documents.
  • You have very good knowledge of the Spanish and Swedish languages and can conduct teaching with confidence.
  • You are comfortable communicating in both speech and writing in Swedish with students, guardians, and colleagues in a way where you take responsibility for the message and that the recipient understands what you mean.

Merits:

  • Several years of experience teaching the subject of Modern Languages, Spanish.
  • Experience and knowledge in using digital tools.
  • Experience working in a multicultural area.
  • Experience with compensatory teaching in student groups with different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, as well as the ability to adapt teaching to the students' different prerequisites.
