Job Description

We are looking for a Study and Career Counselor for our secondary school (grades 7-9). In this role, you will contribute to students gaining increased self-awareness, hope for the future, and knowledge about educational paths and professions. You will work both strategically and operationally with study and career guidance and be an important part of the school's student health and development work.

The responsibilities include:

• Individual counseling sessions with students in grades 7-9
• Planning and implementation of study and career orientation activities (SYV) in groups/classes
• Support in decision-making processes, e.g., prior to upper secondary school choice
• Collaboration with mentors, teachers, school management, and student health services
• Contact with guardians as needed
• Cooperation with upper secondary schools, working life, and other external actors (e.g., work experience placements, study visits, information campaigns)
• Documentation and follow-up according to school routines
• Possible coordination with several secondary schools may be included in the position

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

• Degree in Study and Career Counseling (or ongoing education assessed as equivalent)
• Good ability to build trusting relationships with students
• Ability to work in a structured, independent, and goal-oriented manner
• Good communicative skills in Swedish, both oral and written
• Digital proficiency (e.g., study planning tools, Google/Microsoft 365)

The following qualifications are meritorious:

• Experience working as a Study and Career Counselor at the secondary level
• Knowledge of upper secondary school programs and eligibility requirements
• Experience in collaboration regarding work experience placements and contacts with working life
• Multilingualism

Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.

Criminal Record Check

To work in preschools, schools, and youth and leisure activities, you must, according to the Register Control Act, provide a certificate of no criminal record from the Swedish Police Authority. You must request the certificate yourself from the Swedish Police Authority using the form "Extract from the Criminal Record Register" available in the form archive on the police website.
