About the position

The position is a permanent full-time employment located in Övertorneå Municipality.

Start date by agreement, preferably in August.

Probationary period may be applied.

About the workplace

The Finance Department provides support and services to the municipality's operations, citizens, and political organization. We work with accounting, follow-up, budgeting, finance, and procurement. The department also plays a key role in ensuring quality, compliance with laws and guidelines, and the development of working methods and management.

Responsibilities

• Participation in budget and annual report work
• Support to operations in budgeting, follow-up, and forecasting
• Conduct analyses, investigations, and prepare reports
• Participate in the development of economic processes and resource allocation models
• Act as an internal consultant and provide advice on financial matters
• Participate in information and training initiatives

Qualifications

• Degree in Economics from university or equivalent education/experience
• A few years of work experience in finance (meritorious)
• Experience in financial management, preferably within municipal operations (meritorious)
• Good proficiency in working with Excel
• Good IT skills – we work with Visma and Stratsys, among others

We are an administrative municipality for Finnish and Meänkieli, so it is positive if you speak any of these languages.

Personal qualities

To succeed in this role, we believe you are analytical, structured, and meticulous. You are service-oriented and solution-focused, with good collaboration skills. You take initiative, are curious, and actively contribute to developing working methods and processes. You also have good verbal and written communication skills.
