Your new job

As a Leisure Centre Teacher at Södergårdsskolan, you will, together with experienced colleagues, have the opportunity to drive development and pedagogical issues and participate in leading collegial learning. Your primary work involves teaching in the leisure centre, but also in collaboration with teachers during the school day.

In the role of a teacher specializing in leisure centres, you are responsible for the pedagogical work in the activity and actively contribute to creating a meaningful and developmental daily routine for the students. You plan, implement, and follow up on activities that are clearly linked to the goals of the curriculum and other steering documents for primary school, while maintaining a holistic perspective on the students' development and learning.

You create conditions for students to learn in creative and varied ways, where they have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice and develop new skills. The leisure centre should function as a valuable complement to the students' school education, and you work consciously to strengthen both their social development and their confidence in their own abilities.

Your assignment also includes building and maintaining trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You promote a safe and inclusive learning environment that takes into account the students' needs and interests, meeting them where they are.

Södergårdsskolan in Huskvarna is a preschool class to grade 6 school with approximately 440 students. At Södergårdsskolan, we prepare our students for a future with the whole world as their workplace. We provide good conditions for safety, learning, and health. The school is located on the southern heights, surrounded by beautiful nature. The school buildings were constructed in 1911 and 1921, carefully renovated, and are heritage-listed (K-märkta).

Your competence

We are looking for you who are a trained teacher with a teaching license for work in leisure centres, or alternatively, you are at the end of your education or awaiting your teaching license. You have a good understanding of the primary school's mission and are well acquainted with its steering documents. Experience of working in a leisure centre or school is meritorious. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and possess basic IT skills.

From March 1, 2026, extended register checks were introduced for persons who are to work with children. This means you will need to submit an additional extract prior to employment. Before employing new colleagues for our teaching positions, we must ensure that there is a valid teaching license. We therefore ask you to attach a current teaching license retrieved from the Swedish National Agency for Education within the last two months.
