Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that impact people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion SEK annually. The main task of the Control Department is to investigate suspected benefit fraud. The investigations range from relatively uncomplicated cases to organized and systematic criminal activity. The duties include administrative tasks, qualified investigations, and issuing negative decisions.
Investigations, Analysis, and Teamwork
As an Insurance Investigator, you have an important mission: to help citizens so that the right person receives the right benefit at the right time. You provide the conditions for clarity and security in all contacts with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Contact is made via phone and in writing. In your work, you conduct qualified investigations and subsequently make decisions. Every individual has a unique situation that needs to be addressed based on their specific needs. As an Insurance Investigator, you handle confidential information, which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you have a high level of security awareness.
When working with controls, you encounter people who may have received benefits from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency on incorrect grounds, either knowingly or unknowingly. You conduct controls that contribute to ensuring that the correct benefits are paid out. The work involves both qualified and complex investigations, as well as simpler investigations and insurance administration, providing varied tasks. The work includes investigating and making decisions regarding several different benefits, which places high demands on you as an employee to find the correct legal provisions and benefit regulations. In cases where benefits have been paid out incorrectly, you must also decide whether to file a police report. You occasionally have personal meetings, including home and workplace visits. You collaborate with various agencies, including the Police Authority, the Swedish Tax Agency, the Inspectorate for Care and Social Services, municipalities, and the Swedish Enforcement Authority.

- have a university degree or experience and qualifications that can be considered equivalent
- are stable and trustworthy
- act on your own initiative and take responsibility for high-quality results
- have a systematic and meticulous working method
- can understand and analyze complex issues
- have good communication skills
- collaborate effectively with others to achieve common goals
- are computer literate.
It is an advantage if you
- have worked with qualified investigations and made decisions affecting individuals, preferably in a public authority
- have good knowledge of how to professionally meet people in different life situations
- have experience with one or more different benefit types at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency
- have experience in driving investigations, defining their scope, and making decisions
- have experience performing in a result- and goal-oriented operation
- have experience collaborating with other actors focusing on control or crime prevention
- have experience with investigations within control and supervision activities
- have experience with qualified side assignments.

Other Information
Multiple positions, permanent, full-time, with start date as agreed. Probation period may apply. In accordance with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's security guidelines, background checks are conducted in this recruitment. Swedish citizenship is required for this position. Remote work opportunities exist if the work allows. In this recruitment, work psychological tests may be used as part of the selection process. Location: Stockholm or Visby.
