For Gotland to grow and develop, many good forces must collaborate. Region Gotland has a significant responsibility to make the island a great place to visit, live, work, and thrive. Within the Culture and Leisure Department, there are approximately 90 employees working in the areas of libraries, leisure, and culture. We work broadly to promote citizens' health and quality of life, deepen democracy, inspire personal creation, interpersonal meetings, and a meaningful existence. We now wish to strengthen the Culture Unit with a new position aimed at enhancing and developing culture on Gotland.

Within the Culture Unit, 13 employees work with support services, culture in schools, youth culture activities, public art, and development issues within literature, theatre, film, music, dance, and visual arts. The Culture and Leisure Department is part of the Regional Executive Administration, which also includes departments such as finance, HR, communications, and IT/digitalization.

We will do everything we can to ensure you thrive and develop with us. The Culture and Leisure Department within Region Gotland is a strong contributing force to the development of the entire island. Our philosophy is characterized by creating opportunities for our employees to develop both professionally and personally, but we also place high demands on delivery, activity, and follow-up.

Your Responsibilities

As a Business Developer in the Culture Unit, you will work administratively to strengthen the unit's support processes and internal quality work, for example by arranging competence development, conducting follow-ups, or preparing materials for political decisions. Your work is a crucial piece in fulfilling Region Gotland's Culture Plan 2025–2028. You will also sometimes work operationally to lead development initiatives, such as the decided culture house in the former Solbergabadet or within the culture guarantee. In your role, you work closely with other employees in the unit as well as across the administration. You report to the Head of the Culture Unit.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a university education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or other equivalent education, as well as experience in leading projects and processes and/or driving structured business development. Much depends on who you are and your ability to create results. To fulfill this role, you must have a valid B driving license.

It is an advantage if you have a background in the cultural sector and have good knowledge and understanding of the challenges in the field, as well as previous experience working in public administration and a politically governed organization.

In addition to these competencies and experiences, it is important that you match the personal competencies we see as decisive for the role. The person we seek should be collaborative and independent, and able to plan, implement, and drive own processes. You are result- and solution-oriented, flexible, and have good teamwork skills.

The work involves many different processes, so it is important that you are structured and meticulous. As the work involves many contacts, it is important that you can plan and prioritize.
