Are you interested in a varied role where no two days are alike? Then you should apply for the position of Court Administrator with us. We look forward to welcoming you to Gotland District Court, and you have the option to work remotely from home if you wish.
Who We Are
As one of Sweden's smallest courts with approximately 20 employees, we have short decision-making and information channels, which create closeness, involvement, and good collaboration in everyday life. Here, you will work alongside dedicated colleagues characterized by responsibility, solution-focus, and joy in work. Here, you work to provide citizens and parties with a fair review, and our mission is to decide on criminal cases, civil cases, and matters in an efficient and legally secure manner.
”I like the challenge of the work, that things can turn around suddenly and that you have to steer the day. My colleagues are also very important. We have fun at work. The judiciary is exciting, and it feels like I am part of something bigger”. This is how an employee describes their work and why they enjoy their role at Gotland District Court so much.
The Role Involves
As a Court Administrator, you work within the court's case management. This includes, among other things, registering new cases and other documents, preparing cases, handling correspondence, summoning parties to hearings, and issuing judgments and decisions.
Furthermore, you also work with orders for public documents, service of documents, and handle appeals to the Court of Appeal. The role involves significant contact with parties and the public, primarily via telephone and writing.
The work is independent, and you perform it under your own responsibility in close collaboration with your colleagues, both Court Administrators and lawyers.
We Are Looking For
- a completed and approved upper secondary education with final grades/diploma or equivalent education,
- experience in service-oriented and administrative work that the employer deems relevant for the position,
- very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing,
- good computer skills.
It is an advantage if you have current experience as a Court Administrator with good references.
Unexpected situations may arise in the work, which means you need to be stable, meticulous, and have a flexible approach. You may need to reprioritize your tasks with short notice while having the ability to learn new tasks. It is important that you are responsible and careful that the handling of our cases proceeds correctly.
You see opportunities instead of focusing on problems, and you believe it is important to be unpretentious. You have good collaboration skills and are service-oriented.
To be considered for employment, you must meet high requirements regarding judgment, security awareness, and suitability. This means you uphold democratic values and the public sector values that govern the operations of the Swedish Courts. We require that you comply with applicable laws.
Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities, suitability, and prerequisites for functioning well at our court.
We Offer You
An interesting, responsible, and developing work in an exciting and socially important activity. Our employees are our most important resource, and as an employer, we are keen that our employees are well, happy, and thereby contribute to the development of the court.

We also have reduced working hours in connection with public holidays, as well as good vacation and pension conditions.
