The Department of Technology and Community Planning is responsible for and develops operations within the community planning process from planning to operation and maintenance.
Region Gotland's technical infrastructure and community planning are a prerequisite for a resilient society, and work on preparedness and security is therefore central to the department. As support for the entire Department of Technology and Community Planning, there is the position of Preparedness and Security Coordinator. The position is organizationally part of the Administrative Support division, but the tasks apply to the entire organization of the Department of Technology and Community Planning, and you will be the reporting officer for the department's management group.
The mandate of the Administrative Support division is to be a guiding, coordinating, and supporting function in region-wide processes for the board and the management and operations of the department. The division's mandate also includes the department's customer service. Today, we have 33 employees.
Your responsibilities
The Department of Technology and Community Planning is looking for a coordinator with a focus on preparedness and security. In the role, environmental scanning is a central part of the work. To stay ahead, you need to keep track of current legislation and upcoming changes within the sector. In addition, you will work with case processing, respond to consultations, prepare matters for political decisions, and present security and crisis preparedness issues to decision-makers.
As a Preparedness and Security Coordinator, you work closely with the department's management group, managers, and employees. You will drive and coordinate the preparedness and security work, but also practically lead and carry out and evaluate work. This requires collaboration with various actors within the region's own organization as well as external actors at both local, regional, and national levels.
In the role, you will among other things be responsible for and practically lead and carry out the work with the department's Risk and Vulnerability Analysis (RSA) and Security Protection Analyses (SSA). You will support divisions/units by practically leading the continuity planning and being responsible for and developing the department's crisis management plan, as well as being able to act as chief of staff when setting up a crisis staff. Training is also an important part of the assignment, and you will train managers, employees, and elected officials. Furthermore, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and subsequently evaluating exercises with management groups, divisions, units, and employees. In the assignment, you participate as the department's representative in the region's preparedness network. The role of Preparedness and Security Coordinator is varied, challenging, and involves great opportunities for personal development. You may also be war-placed in your position.
Who are you?
We are looking for you with relevant academic education or other further education that the employer deems relevant. A B driver's license and Swedish citizenship are required for the position.
You have work experience in the area that the employer deems relevant. We consider it meritorious if you have experience of strategic work within public administration as well as if you have good knowledge of security protection work and current legislation. It is also meritorious if you have previously coordinated and carried out exercise activities in the area.
As a person, you have the ability to see the big picture, analyze complex situations, and make well-founded decisions based on information and data. You can explain your substantive issues to different target groups in a pedagogical way and have a drive to develop and improve the organization's security work. We see that you have an easy time creating trust and building relationships with both internal and external actors. You have the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism and to be able to prioritize and lead yourself in a complex and sometimes highly demanding environment.
In the role, you are self-reliant and take responsibility for structuring and driving your processes forward, where your ability to cooperate with others is crucial for good results. Since you will work with complex issues in several operations, you need to have a strategic perspective and good judgment in actions. The position also involves being a support for others, and therefore you need to have good pedagogical ability in your communication with others. As a person, you need to be stable and have the ability to handle unforeseen events.
