We are now looking for a school counselor for Västerfärnebo, Hedens, and Kilbo schools. The school counselor is part of the school's student health services. Student health services should be available to all students and include psychosocial, medical, psychological, and special pedagogical interventions. The mission of student health services is to support students' development towards the goals of education. Student health services should primarily be preventive and health-promoting. Through a cross-professional working method, we wish to continue developing the schools' student health teams towards the same goal, where each contributes based on their competence. Together with other staff, we work to increase the well-being, health, and knowledge development of children and young people.

Responsibilities

As a school counselor with us, you are the expert within the school regarding social work and social legislation. The work involves, among other things, contributing to a holistic view, both in individual student work and in the overarching preventive work. The profession of school counselor places high demands on independence. The role involves being a hub in the school's preventive and health-promoting work. The school counselor works with students individually, in groups, and in classes, as well as providing advisory and supportive interventions on behalf of individual youths/families or through the principal. This position involves working at three of our F-6 schools: Västerfärnebo School, Hedens School, and Kilbo School.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed health and social care counselor, or who have a social work degree and meet the requirements to obtain licensure according to upcoming legal requirements. Alternatively, you have other education that the employer deems relevant in combination with the possibility of obtaining licensure within the specified time.

We believe you fit well in our operations if you have a good ability to see and listen to students' individual needs and contribute to security and trust. It is highly meritorious if you have experience working as a school counselor or in equivalent work.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability, flexibility, and teamwork skills. Experience in social work and collaboration with other actors such as social services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), child habilitation, and the police is also meritorious.

Employment Terms

Full-time 100% starting August 2026 or as agreed.

Individual salary setting.

A driver's license (Category B) is required. Since the schools are located in rural areas, you also need your own car.

A certificate of good conduct is required upon offer of employment. This is according to the Act on Register Control in School, Leisure, and Preschool Activities. The Swedish Police Authority's criminal record register, RPS 442.5 (14-01-14).
