The Preschool and Primary Education Department is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments, with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschool, primary school, and child and student health services – we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future.

Göthriks School is located between Grimeton and Hunnestad, about a mile east of Varberg, in a rural environment with nature close at hand. The school accommodates 175 students in grades F-6. The school offers a varied outdoor environment that enables play and movement.

Job Description

As a teacher with us, you play a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment where we together create the best possible conditions for learning. By planning, implementing, and following up on your teaching, you provide students with the prerequisites to grow based on their unique needs and goals.

Main responsibilities:

• Together with a class teacher, be responsible for a small group of students.
• Plan, lead, and evaluate teaching based on regulatory documents and chosen didactic strategies.
• Meet students with special needs in their knowledge progression and strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-confidence through professional leadership.
• Develop stimulating learning environments that encourage learning, participation, and student influence.
• Promote a holistic view of the student's school day through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians.
• Actively participate in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in pedagogical daily life.
• Spend a limited part of the day supporting the After-School Centre (Fritidshemmet).

Qualifications

You are skilled at building relationships and create trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have a good feel for the group, are flexible, possess didactic ability, and adapt your methods based on students' different needs, knowledge progression, and daily mood.

We are looking for you who:

• Have a teaching license with eligibility for teaching in grades 1–6.
• Have the ability to base your teaching on proven experience and scientific foundation.
• Show skill in planning and systematically following up on operations based on given frameworks.
• Have good assessment skills to follow up on students' development and give constructive feedback.
• Possess clear planning skills to structure lessons and work areas.
