We are looking for a Budget and Debt Advisor for Falun Municipality!

The Budget and Debt Advisory Service in Falun works to strengthen households' economic conditions and contribute to residents living independent lives. The activity aims at economic rehabilitation and preventing future economic problems. The advisory service is a legally regulated municipal activity.

The position is located within the Sustainability and Investigation Unit at the City Office. The unit works with strategic and operationally close issues that contribute to the municipality's long-term development and sustainability. The Budget and Debt Advisory Service is part of the Consumer Falun function, which also includes consumer legal advice.

The City Office is a central function in the municipality and constitutes the hub of the democratic process. Here you will find support for the political organization, preparation of cases, as well as specialist competencies in sustainability, law, board administration, information security, and archives.

You will become part of a professional team with good collaboration and a common focus on quality and citizen benefit.

Responsibilities

As a Budget and Debt Advisor, you work closely with municipal residents in various life situations with the goal of strengthening their economic room for maneuver.

Your main responsibilities include:

• providing individual advice on budget and debt issues
• supporting individuals in structuring their finances and creating sustainable budgets
• informing about rights and obligations related to debts and contracts
• working with debt adjustment processes, including support with applications
• working preventively through information and guidance to different target groups
• collaborating with internal and external actors, such as social services, authorities, and civil society

The work involves both booked advisory sessions and outward-facing efforts.

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

• post-secondary education in fields such as economics, law, social work, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• good knowledge of personal finance and society's support systems
• good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
• good digital competence and experience working in various systems

Meritorious Qualifications

• experience in budget and debt advisory or similar advisory work
• knowledge of debt adjustment legislation
• experience working in the public sector
• experience collaborating with several different actors
• experience holding information meetings or training sessions

Terms of Employment

The recruitment is for a permanent full-time position, with a start date as soon as possible according to agreement.
