Administrative role with system and IT support
Manufacturing of eyeglass lenses – sales to opticians
We are looking for a self-sufficient and proactive administrative resource who wants to work close to the operations and combine administration with system and IT-related support. The role is site-bound and is performed on-site in the operations.
This is a broad and practical role for you who thrive with responsibility, like to figure things out yourself, and want to learn a completely new and specialized industry.
About the role
The role combines ongoing administration with practical system and IT support in daily operations. You work closely together with colleagues, in our systems, and in connection with the physical production.
Our main tools are Microsoft Office (especially Excel) as well as RxOffice, a business and laboratory system for optical laboratories.
Responsibilities
- Administration: structure, documentation, compilations, and support to the operations
- System and IT support in daily life: user support, simpler troubleshooting, and handling of software
- Work in and understand RxOffice and support colleagues in system usage
- Advanced work in Excel: analyses, lists, follow-ups, and logic
- Contact and coordination with external suppliers as needed
- Find out about rules, requirements, and processes – and translate them into how we actually work
- Identify improvements in routines, systems, and working methods and drive these forward
How you will enter the role
The industry is specialized and most who work here have learned it on the job.
There is no extensive training material or finished manual.
You are therefore expected to:
- Have a strong personal desire to learn
- Actively absorb knowledge through colleagues, systems, production, and your own work
- Ask questions, observe, test, and draw your own conclusions
- Build your understanding by seeing the whole picture – from order to finished product
This suits you who like to learn by doing.
We are looking for you who
- Are self-sufficient and comfortable working without detailed instructions
- Have very good Excel skills and high general system familiarity
- Are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented
- Dare to take responsibility and drive tasks forward
- Thrive in an environment where things are not always finished or perfect
- Want to understand the operations deeply – not just perform individual tasks
Meritorious (but not a requirement)
- Experience of administration in small or medium-sized companies
- Experience of business systems or operation-related IT support
- Experience working close to production or technical operations
We offer
- A central and operation-related role
- Great freedom under responsibility
- Opportunity to become very knowledgeable within a niche industry
- A non-hierarchical work environment where initiative is highly valued
