About the Role

Regionkonsten is responsible for Region Dalarna's art collection and the artistic design in all premises where the region operates. We are a key player in public art, primarily in healthcare environments.

Currently, two people work with us, and we are now looking for an additional team member. Our office is located on Vasagatan in Falun, but all of Dalarna is our workplace. Regionkonsten is part of the Support and Development activity within the Culture and Education Administration. Regionkonsten offers you a developmental role where you will help shape our future work with public art. The assignment includes both the placement and management of art in existing public environments, as well as project management of artistic designs in new construction projects.

Responsibilities

As an Art Project Manager/Art Administrator, you are responsible for leading art commissions during new construction. You will project manage art projects in various phases, which involves working with planning, implementation, and follow-up. You write art programs, procurement documents, assemble consultation groups, and lead selection processes. In early stages, you identify locations for art and work in close collaboration with clients, architects, construction projects, and operations. During the project, you work closely with artists. Upon handover to the administration, you ensure that there is an anchored and well-documented maintenance description and management plan. You are responsible for communicating the project to relevant parties and the public. You work on creating budgets for the art projects you lead.

During certain periods, you will also work with the placement and management of existing art in the region's art collection. The role also includes environmental scanning, networking, purchasing movable art, and collaborating with other actors within the art and culture sector to strengthen and develop the operations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• University education in artistic or art history subjects, interior architecture, or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant
• Knowledge of contemporary art and public art
• Proven experience in curatorial work/art project management and budgeting
• Good knowledge of materials and techniques
• Good communication skills in speech and writing
• Valid driver's license (Category B)
