The Department of Integration, Social Assistance and Employment (IFA) is one of three departments within the Labour Market and Social Services Administration. The department is responsible for, among other things, social assistance, labour market measures, employment, social housing issues, newly arrived immigrants, and the consolidated authority enforcement for young adults aged 18–24. The starting point for IFA's operations is to create conditions for individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and ensure a decent standard of living, as well as to promote independence.

We are now looking for a Housing Support Worker for the Housing, Inclusion and Administration Unit.

The unit is responsible for social housing work, integration of newly arrived adults and families, and eviction prevention work. We also offer housing support to young adults, guidance in the home, and integration support to create good conditions for independence.

Our assignments mainly come as authority decisions from social secretaries at IFA or the Adult Department. The unit also includes the administrative team for the entire IFA department. On the unit, we are a positive and flexible work group that helps and supports each other in our work. We place great emphasis on performing the work with high quality and a good attitude towards the residents of Karlstad we meet as well as our collaboration partners.

Job Responsibilities

As a Housing Support Worker, you provide support in housing situations on behalf of social secretaries with the aim of countering homelessness and exclusion from the housing market. This includes, among other things:

• Home visits
• Motivation and providing tools
• Guidance/Coaching
• Internal and external collaboration

The work places high demands on the employee's ability to establish good contact and to adapt pedagogically and flexibly to meet clients' needs for individual support, so that they can eventually manage their own housing situation with their own rental contract. It is a prerequisite that the work is carried out with care and respect for the individual.

Qualifications

We expect you to have post-secondary education such as a treatment assistant education or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You should have a good ability to handle difficult situations while maintaining faith in people's ability to change and develop. We are looking for someone who can independently plan and structure their work. You are calm, secure, and caring. We will place emphasis on personal suitability. Experience in similar work and familiarity with documentation are meritorious.

A Category B driver's license for manual transmission is required.
