Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago, offering a unique combination of nature's quiet beauty and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not just one but many: schools, properties, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, elderly care, and much more. We work to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones who make the dream of a resilient, secure environment for homes, families, and businesses possible.
To succeed fully, we need diverse competencies and must work together to build a shared and trust-based work culture, built on courageous, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the citizens.
Our Operations
Effective January 1, 2026, the Social and Care Office will be formed, merging the Healthcare and Care Office with the Individual and Family Care Office. We are embarking on an exciting journey of change and are now seeking engaged employees who want to help shape it. On the Individual and Family Care department, we are approximately 80 employees working with social services for both children/youth and adults. The unit you will become part of consists of 30 social secretaries along with group leaders and unit managers.
As a Coordinator, you will have a central role in the team – with the task of strengthening collaboration around children and young people with complex needs, driving work with SIP (Interagency Public Protection) and Signs of Safety, and contributing to more children receiving support close to home instead of out-of-home placements. The assignment aims to enable coordinated efforts between social services, the region, schools, and other actors – with a clear focus on preventive work and sustainable local solutions.
We work together for a trust-based work culture, built on courageous and responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the citizens. Värmdö Municipality provides clear leadership that gives employees the prerequisites to perform their work and take responsibility for their own personal development. We also invest in a good work environment and have a stated ambition to create good conditions for combining an active working life with a vibrant leisure and family life.
Your Assignment
In the role of Coordinator, you have an independent and important assignment with direct impact on the life situation of children and young people. You work operationally and closely with social secretaries in their investigation and follow-up work, while maintaining a strategic holistic perspective on collaboration and method development.
Your main tasks are to:
- Train and implement Signs of Safety and SIP as working methods within the unit, and ensure that the methods take root in daily work
- Actively support social secretaries in their work with SIP, network meetings, and safety planning, together with group leaders.
- Participate in and lead complex SIP and network meetings where you contribute your expertise and ensure that the right actors collaborate around the child or young person
- Work actively together with leaders and social secretaries so that placed children can return home, where possible
- Contribute to joint planning and co-financing in collaboration with the region and LSS (Support and Service according to Special Rules for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments)
You are expected to take clear ownership of the coordination and implementation assignment, lead meetings with multiple professions and authorities, and document and follow up on the processes you drive. The role requires both the ability to work structured independently and to be an active support for colleagues around you.
Your Experience
Requirements:
- Social Work Degree (Social Work Bachelor's or Master's)
- Several years of experience in authority practice as a social secretary within child and youth services
- Experience of collaboration between social services, the region, schools, and/or LSS
- Good ability to lead meetings as well as coordinate, document, and follow up complex processes
- Good experience of working according to Signs of Safety, including safety planning
- Documented experience of training and implementing methods and working approaches within social services
- Completed training for trainers in Signs of Safety
- Completed basic and advanced training for SIP
- Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
- Category B driver's license
Meritorious Qualifications
- Experience of having worked as a SIP Coordinator
- Training in and experience of network work according to systems theory
- Experience of training and implementing Signs of Safety and SIP in an organization
- Experience of dialogue and negotiation with external providers and other authorities regarding content, scope, and price levels within the framework of current agreements
Your Personal Attributes
To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you are a confident and experienced social worker who can take independent ownership of your assignment. You drive your work forward with good structure, plan long-term, and keep complex processes together without losing the details.
You are a natural leader in meetings with others – you lead meetings with confidence, build trust among different professions and authorities, and have the ability to get groups moving in the same direction. At the same time, you are sensitive and collaboration-oriented, and understand the value of working closely with group leaders, social secretaries, and external actors to achieve the best possible results for the child and family.
You are naturally relationship-building and have an easy time establishing and maintaining contacts, both internally and in collaboration with the region, schools, and LSS. In meetings with other professions, you are unpretentious and constructive, and you contribute to a climate where collaboration feels natural.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Application
The employment is for an indefinite period, full-time, with a start date in September or as soon as possible.
Värmdö Municipality offers health care subsidies, SL public transport cards against net salary deduction, and holiday exchange for extra days off. We also actively work to create health-promoting workplaces with a good work environment and apply smoke-free working hours.
