As a school counselor, you are a central part of the school's student health team and play a vital role in promoting and preventive work. You contribute with psychosocial competence and work closely with school leadership, teaching staff, and other professionals within student health services.

Your role and responsibilities

In the role of school counselor, you primarily work preventively and health-promoting. You are responsible for the school's work against harassment and absenteeism, hold individual and group conversations with students, participate in parent meetings when necessary, and provide guidance and consultation to school staff.

The position

The position is approximately 50%. Start date August 2026 or as agreed. Salary according to agreement.

Your qualifications and experience

Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work (Social Work degree).
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for psychosocial interventions.
• Good collaboration skills and a respectful approach to differences.

Merits:

• Experience working as a school counselor.
• Experience in meeting and supporting young people in their development, for example through work within social services, schools, or other youth-oriented activities.
• Experience in values-based work.

Personal suitability is highly valued. You are confident in your professional role, solution-oriented, and relationship-building.

Estetiska skolan recently celebrated its 20th anniversary! We are an independent school run by a non-profit association. We offer both middle school (grades 7-9) and upper secondary school (gymnasium) with a total of approximately 230 students. The student is at the center of everything we do. We are located centrally in Arvika.
