Description
Sannerud School is Kil Municipality's secondary school with approximately 400 students, located centrally in Kil town center. We are a school with good conditions for operating a high-quality and developing activity.
The school has a stable work and development organization based on the students' needs and the activity's goals. Our focus is on reaching every student, and we do this together.
Our unit also includes our IM program.
We are looking for an employee who will contribute to raising the quality of our work and who sees change work as a natural part of everyday life.
The position will be based at Sannerud 7–9 but is also directed towards students in year 6 at the municipality's intermediate schools.
Job Responsibilities
The school social team's mission is to contribute to increased school attendance through early, preventive, and health-promoting measures, thereby strengthening students' opportunities to succeed in school. A central part of the mission is to work with students who have or are at risk of developing problematic school absenteeism.
The school social team works operationally and closely with students, school staff, student health services, guardians, social services, and other relevant actors. The work always starts from the student's individual needs, where collaboration is an important prerequisite for creating sustainable solutions. The team offers psychosocial support in various forms, motivational interviewing, social training, and support in creating structure in daily life. The mission also includes supporting and guiding guardians.
The work also includes administrative tasks such as mapping, investigations, and routine documentation.
Our goal is that the school social team's preventive and health-promoting work will contribute to problematic school absenteeism being prevented to the greatest extent possible at an early stage.
The work is under ongoing development, and you will be involved, together with your team member, in further developing working methods, routines, and measures in close collaboration with the student health services and school management.
Qualifications
We are looking for a social worker or a person with other relevant university or university college education, such as a behavioral scientist, social pedagogue, therapeutic pedagogue, psychologist, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent to our school social team.
You have good ability to cooperate and collaborate and enjoy working at the individual, group, and organizational levels from a health-promoting and preventive perspective. In your work, you switch effortlessly between independent work and collaboration with others.
You have a respectful and professional approach, see people's differences as a strength, and share the school's value base. You have the ability to identify needs and create opportunities for change and development, and you can handle and prioritize between different types of cases and tasks. Flexibility is a natural part of your work style, and you adapt methods and measures based on the situation and needs.
You easily create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. As a person, you are secure, stable, and structured. You take personal responsibility for your work and actively contribute to achieving the school's common goals.
We expect you to contribute with commitment, a professional attitude, and initiatives for the continued development of the activity. Great importance is placed on social competence and personal suitability.
