As a Family Law Secretary, you will have the exciting combination of investigative, supportive, and advisory work. Your work makes a difference in children's daily lives and helps parents collaborate and put the child first.

Your Responsibilities

You handle assignments from the district court, which may include investigations regarding custody, residence, and access. You drive the work forward and gather the necessary information. Other tasks include investigating parental matters. The Family Law Group also enforces the court's decisions regarding access support. We handle cases from several municipalities: Västerås, Skinnskatteberg, Fagersta, and Norberg.

As a Family Law Secretary, you also have an advisory role and work with cooperation meetings where you meet separated parents who need support in their parenting. You help them find agreements based on the best interests of the child. The Family Law Group also conducts parent education courses and children's groups.

Your Qualifications

You have a degree in Social Work, and it is an advantage if you have experience in public administration and preferably in family law. For you, variety in tasks is important for job satisfaction. Good judgment in assessments is a prerequisite for maintaining high quality in the work. Experience working with children/young people and families is a positive asset. Being accommodating is second nature to you, and you have a good attitude towards everyone you meet.

The Family Law Group is in a development phase where additional funding allows us to bring in more resources and appoint a longer-term substitute, approx. 1.5 years.

Before you can be employed, you must provide a clean extract from the police criminal record.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a population registration certificate together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
