The Children and Youth Unit consists of just over 20 employees who work with assessments and follow-up of interventions for children and young people aged 0–21, family law, and various forms of family therapy. A key part of our operations is the foster care service, and we are now looking for a Foster Care Secretary who wants to help develop our work moving forward.

Here, you will receive continuous support in your cases from your nearest manager, Senior Social Secretary, and colleagues. We also offer the possibility of remote work when it is compatible with the assignment.

We actively work to develop and recruit foster homes in-house, and we are looking for you who want to contribute new ideas and solutions to this important work.

Responsibilities

As a Foster Care Secretary, you are responsible for recruiting, assessing, training, and supervising foster homes. You work actively to build trusting and long-term relationships where you provide support and guidance in the role of foster home.

The role also includes:

• Matching children and foster homes for safe and sustainable placements
• Recruiting and assessing contact families and contact persons
• Managing agreements and compensation issues according to delegation
• Ensuring legally secure case processing and decisions in individual cases
• Working according to current routines and contributing to the development of the operations

You collaborate closely with the child's social secretary, the assessing social secretary, colleagues, and other internal and external actors based on the child's needs.

Our foster homes are located primarily in the local area but also in other parts of Sweden, which means that travel is part of the position.

The work involves ongoing documentation and requires structure and good administrative skills.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or other education that the employer considers equivalent.

You have experience with the authority functions of social services, preferably within child and youth services, and have good knowledge of current legislation. You have very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and are accustomed to documenting.

You are flexible, solution-oriented, and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces. You have good collaboration skills, can work independently, and are confident in handling several parallel tasks at a high pace. Since the work involves many meetings with people, it is important that you have an easy time creating and maintaining relationships and enjoy collaboration.

A B-class driver's license is required.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience with foster care assessments
• Knowledge of BBIC, Signs of Safety, A Lasting Relationship
• Experience with the documentation system Lifecare

Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment.

For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record register is a prerequisite for employment.
