Personal assistance is a support service designed to enable individuals with extensive disabilities to participate in society and live as independently as possible. Personal assistance is tailored to the individual's needs. This is a new case that is now being launched, where we will appoint a new work group.

Job Responsibilities

The position involves personal assistance for a man with Parkinson's disease who lives alone in an apartment in central Karlstad. The care recipient needs support with many daily activities, meaning you, as an assistant, will work closely with him in his home environment. Duties include personal care, practical support at home, transfers, and support during activities and excursions. The man has interests such as car exhibitions, photography, cooking, and going on outings, which you are welcome to incorporate into your daily routine together.

The role also includes medication management, which requires precision, responsibility, and a good understanding of routines and instructions. The work is performed as a solo assignment and requires you to be confident working independently. As transfers are involved, good physical fitness is required. The care recipient is a smoker, and smoking takes place outdoors, so this must be acceptable to you. Since personal assistance is provided in the care recipient's home, it is very important that the personal chemistry feels right for all parties involved.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you need to be a calm, secure, and attentive person with a good attitude towards others. You should have previous experience working in care services, and education in nursing or social work is an advantage. A requirement is that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and chemistry.

The work is currently scheduled seven days a week during day and evening hours, based on the care recipient's needs. A category B driver's license is an advantage for commuting to and from work.

A certificate of good conduct (police record) is required prior to employment in accordance with our procedures, and we encourage you to request this when submitting your application.
