Do you want to work closely with young people and young adults in transition – in an operation where relationships, quality, and development are at the center?

At Nexus, we meet young people and young adults who want to change their situation regarding alcohol, drugs, and/or gambling. Through qualified treatment work, motivational interviewing, and respectful handling, we help people find new paths forward.

We are now looking for a treatment counselor who wants to make a difference together with an engaged and competent team.

About the Operation

Nexus consists of four treatment counselors and two school social workers who work preventively and therapeutically with young people and their networks. We offer psychosocial treatment and counseling based on MI (Motivational Interviewing) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), as well as a network-oriented approach.

The work is conducted based on current research and the National Board of Health and Welfare's national guidelines, with a focus on creating sustainable changes for the young person and their relatives.

Nexus is part of a larger unit that also includes social probation housing and labor market operations. The operations collaborate closely to create a holistic approach to the individual's needs and situation.

Job Responsibilities

As a treatment counselor, you work with motivational interviewing and psychosocial treatment for young people and young adults. The work is characterized by flexibility, relationship-building, and collaboration – both with the young person's network and with other actors.

In the role, you will among other things:

• be responsible for treatment and motivational work with young people and their relatives
• work from a holistic perspective regarding the individual's health, life situation, and needs
• collaborate with schools, social services, healthcare, and other relevant actors
• contribute to development and quality work in the operation
• participate in outward-facing and informative work to make the operation known and accessible

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are confident in the counselor role and have a genuine commitment to young people and change work. You have a good ability to build relationships and collaborations, while also being able to work independently and structured.

You are flexible and can adapt the work based on the individual's needs and daily condition without losing direction and quality in the work. You thrive in collaboration with others and contribute to a good work climate through engagement, professionalism, and lack of pretension.

We also see that you:

• are educated as a social worker or have another university education that the employer considers equivalent
• have several years of experience in psychosocial work with young people and their families
• have a B driver's license

We would like you to have further education in CBT, for example, basic psychotherapy education (step 1). Several of our treatment counselors are currently further educating themselves in step 1 CBT, and we value a shared interest in development, evidence-based treatment work, and method deepening.

Experience of A-CRA or family treatment work is meritorious.
