Description

We are looking for two support pedagogues for our residential support service. Residential support involves providing practical and social support in daily life to individuals with disabilities according to the LSS Act (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) in their homes. The support pedagogue should provide support in quality work and a holistic view regarding the care recipient. The goal is to ensure good living conditions for the care recipient in terms of participation and independence.

In Karlstad Municipality, we provide residential support in Centrum, Våxnäs, Rud, Kronoparken, and Vålberg. The support pedagogues will be based in Rud and Centrum. The work involves day and evening shifts, and weekend work may occur.

Responsibilities

In the role of support pedagogue, you will work on supporting your colleagues in various communication methods and clear communication pedagogy based on the individual needs of the care recipient. You will work with implementation plans and social documentation based on current legislation as well as guidelines and instructions in our management system. Your duties include introducing new staff together with your colleagues, mentoring, and being a good role model in the pedagogical work. As a support pedagogue, you will teach and implement new pedagogical methods in the work group. You are expected to be proactive in the pedagogical work at the workplace and support colleagues with social documentation and ensure that implementation plans are established.

As a support pedagogue, you contribute to enabling the care recipient to live as meaningful and independent a life as possible.

The support pedagogue is also part of the daily work regarding the care recipient. This involves care measures as well as participating in various activities with the care recipients.

In Karlstad Municipality, there is a network for support pedagogues, supervisors, and business developers who meet to exchange experiences and learn from each other. In addition to our internal network, there is a regional network for support pedagogues where students studying to become support pedagogues are also welcome.

Qualifications

For the role of support pedagogue, we are looking for you who have:

• Education as a support pedagogue (200 YH credits).
• Work experience from work within LSS operations.
• Good computer skills and experience with documentation.
• Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
• Good physical fitness, as care recipients have different needs for support and help in their daily lives.
• A valid driver's license is required.

We are looking for someone with good self-awareness, who is secure in themselves, receptive, takes responsibility, and collaborates well with everyone they meet. You are flexible, open-minded, and see opportunities instead of obstacles. Some of your driving forces are development and quality, to promote good living conditions in the form of participation and independence for the care recipient.
