Job Description

As a Research Assistant, you will support MDU's agrivoltaic research group, with a special focus on research activities related to crop growth and yield assessment in agrivoltaic systems.

The work involves planning and conducting field trials as well as practical work in an agricultural environment. You will be responsible for measuring crop-related parameters, monitoring crop development and health, and sampling within agrivoltaic systems.

Furthermore, the role includes contributing to the analysis of collected data and participating in the preparation of scientific publications and reports.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a master's degree with a focus on agriculture or equivalent.

You should have:

• experience from research at the doctoral level within agrivoltaic systems,
• documented experience in planning and conducting agricultural trials, preferably within agrivoltaic systems,
• experience with statistical analysis methods for evaluating field trials with crops,
• experience working with canopy analyzers and equipment for measuring photosynthesis,
• ability to plan and conduct sampling in different types of crops,
• experience with laboratory work related to yield assessment, such as drying procedures and seed cleaning,
• very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

Merits

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience with crop assessment in agrivoltaic systems in Sweden or in similar climatic conditions,
• experience with crop trials under spectrally selective PV panels or semi-transparent solar panels,
• a valid European driving license (category B).
