We are now looking for a Parish Pedagogue for Västerstrand Parish – an exciting parish rich in diversity with broad and lively activities, singing and creative work, and groups for all ages, young and old, in the western parts of Karlstad. Right in the heart of this area lies Västerstrand Church as a meeting point between different neighborhoods.

Description and Responsibilities

As a Parish Pedagogue at Västerstrand Parish, you are an important part of the work with children, youth, and adults. You plan and lead:

• Open activities, groups, and meetings for different ages and contexts
• Camps, excursions, and gatherings
• Devotions and participation in church services

You also play a central role in the parish's school-church work, collaborating with preschools and schools and planning activities together with educational staff.

The work involves both independent responsibility and close cooperation with colleagues in Västerstrand Parish and other staff in the pastorate. The position includes regular evening and weekend duties, and occasionally during major holy weeks.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have education as a Parish Pedagogue or equivalent pedagogical education
• Have a commitment to meeting people in various life situations and supporting their development and faith
• Are confident in your role as a leader and role model
• Have good cooperation skills, are receptive, and pedagogical
• Are flexible and can adapt to the needs of the activity
• Share the Church of Sweden's faith and values and are a member

You have good communication skills both verbally and in writing and are comfortable with digital tools.
