Being a contact support worker
Some children lack a close relationship with their parent(s), which means extra support may be needed to create a safe and positive experience for the child. As a contact support worker, your primary task is to provide this support when the child is to have contact with a parent they do not live with.
The role of contact support worker includes planning and coordination prior to the scheduled contact with your nearest manager, parents, the adults the child lives with, and our clients. During the contact, you are responsible for ensuring the plan for the current contact is followed, observing the situation, and being helpful if the situation requires it. Contacts take place in Hagfors and surrounding areas, on public premises, in a facility, or in the home where the child lives.
After the contact has concluded, you are responsible for compiling a written and oral report for your nearest manager and the client. You also participate in planning meetings and conversations with your nearest manager and the client.
To be a contact support worker, you need to be secure, flexible, attentive, and structured. You do not need specific education, but personal suitability is crucial for the role.
Scope
The contact occasions are regular and can occur on weekdays and weekends. Contacts often take place at intervals of one week, two weeks, or one month. The meetings usually last between two and four hours per occasion.
The work involves flexibility and variation, where you, in dialogue with your nearest manager, are involved in planning the hours you work.
