The Municipal Executive Office also houses the organizations for business and destination, as well as shared services. The Municipal Executive Office is the link between the decisions of our elected officials and all the municipality's operations. This is a role for you who wants to work close to the operations and help develop stable and efficient information management in the digital workplace. In this role, you will have important responsibility for managing and further developing SharePoint solutions used widely across the organization, in close collaboration with operations and IT colleagues. You will become a central technical contact point contributing to long-term sustainable solutions within Microsoft 365, with a focus on quality, usability, and long-term maintenance.

The IT Department has overall responsibility for the municipality's IT and works strategically, governing, and supporting. We are close to the municipality's operations and contribute to utilizing the possibilities of digitalization. We contribute with much more than technical solutions and exist as a natural part of the management support for the municipality's administrations and companies.

To meet future needs, we have created a new organization with four areas, where IT Workplace is one of them. The IT Workplace area includes five units: Service Desk, Digital Units, Operation-Close IT Support, Back Office, and Digital Workplace. Our common mission is to deliver high-quality IT workplace and telephony services that make it easier for our employees to work efficiently and securely.

Description of Duties

In the role of Technical Specialist, you are responsible for managing and further developing existing SharePoint solutions within the Digital Workplace. Your task is to ensure that SharePoint is used as a stable and efficient platform for collaboration, and information and document management.

You will become a technical contact point for the operations and work closely with external consultants when further development is needed. You will lead development initiatives in Microsoft 365 with a focus on SharePoint and its ecosystem. In your role, you must also ensure handover, documentation, and long-term ownership of solutions.

Qualifications

You have a relevant higher education degree in IT, systems science, or equivalent, or alternatively other education or experience that the employer considers equivalent. For this position, you need several years of experience working with SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365, in roles where you have had responsibility for maintenance and further development. We also look for experience in working with and administering structure, permissions, and information management in SharePoint environments, as well as good practical knowledge of SharePoint Online. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of the collaboration between SharePoint and other applications within Microsoft 365, as well as a general understanding of the Power Platform in relation to SharePoint.

It is meritorious if you have experience collaborating with operations and translating needs into technical solutions. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have worked with governed document and information management within Microsoft 365 and have an understanding of how solutions need to be designed to be operable and maintainable over time. You preferably have a general understanding of lifecycle management within Microsoft 365, including Purview and related lifecycle policies. And an understanding of how identity and access are handled in Microsoft 365 (Entra ID) in relation to business applications and platform services. Experience with or understanding of SharePoint hybrid setups is also seen as meritorious.

In your role, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently and ensure that tasks are completed within set timeframes. You enjoy working with complex issues; you analyze and break down problems into their components and solve complicated problems. At the same time, you easily absorb new ideas, methods, and ways of working, see opportunities in change, and actively drive development and improvement in operations.
