Women's Health Care in Värmland provides obstetric and gynecological services at the Central Hospital in Karlstad.
The obstetric part of Women's Health Care includes specialized maternity care, delivery care, neonatal care (BB), and postnatal clinics. The department also has a comprehensive outpatient gynecological clinic with several different units, including general gynecology, day care with cytostatic treatment, day surgery, abortion care with day care, a sexual health unit, and a counselor's clinic.
The counselor team at the Women's Clinic is now looking for a new colleague. Here you will find a meaningful role where your conversations provide crucial support to individuals during life's most vulnerable moments.
Your responsibilities
As a counselor at the Women's Clinic, you offer crisis support, individually tailored conversations, counseling, and support in processing experiences for patients affected by, for example, sexual abuse, gynecological cancer, involuntary childlessness, miscarriage, or pregnancy complications.
The work includes both acute interventions with short notice on the ward and planned clinic sessions, meaning your working days may vary in content and pace. The position includes administrative tasks such as record keeping and handling referrals. Collaboration with other healthcare providers and authorities is also part of the job.
Your skills and competencies
We are looking for you who have a valid social work degree and wish to offer counseling to improve our patients' situations. It is an advantage if you are a licensed healthcare counselor or have completed a basic psychotherapy training (Step 1).
As a person, you are solution-focused, have an empathetic approach, and value good collegial collaboration. We value continuous improvement and hope you want to contribute to further developing our operations. Personal suitability is of great importance.
