Description
Project employment until 2027-12-31
Do you want to work closely with young people while simultaneously helping to develop preventive work in the municipality? We are now looking for you who wish to take a key role in a combined position where you both meet young people in transition and coordinate important crime-preventive measures through SSPF (School, Social Services, Police, and Youth Activities).
Social work is changing, and we are shifting towards more accessible, early, and preventive support. In this role, you will become an important part of this work. You will work both operationally and strategically – close to young people in their daily lives and together with other actors to create long-term solutions. We are particularly looking for someone who is curious, driven, and wants to develop working methods and contribute to moving the operations forward.
Responsibilities
You will be part of the Family Team together with other family coaches and will work in close collaboration with a colleague in a similar role, where you together combine the tasks of youth coach and SSPF coordinator. Working in pairs creates good conditions for support, shared vision, and continuity in both the operational work with young people and the coordination between different actors.
As a youth coach, you meet young people who are in various forms of risk zones. You work relationally, motivationally, and supportively, focusing on strengthening the young person's own resources and opportunities for positive development. The work often takes place where the young people are – at home, at school, or during their leisure time – and you collaborate closely with family, school, and other important adults. An important part of the work is family collaboration and parenting support. By supporting parents, you contribute to increasing the understanding of children's and young people's needs and behaviors, as well as strengthening their ability to handle everyday situations and conflicts. The work also aims to improve interaction within the family, strengthen what works, and prevent difficulties from deepening over time. The work is conducted through individual conversations, family meetings, and network meetings, as well as through group activities for children, young people, and parents.
The operations work with both needs-assessed interventions and interventions without formal decisions, in line with the development towards a more accessible and early preventive social services. This means that in some assignments, you work on behalf of social secretaries, while in others, you meet young people and families in a more open and accessible support context.
Parallel to this, you have the role of SSPF coordinator, where you, together with your colleague, hold together and drive collaboration between schools, social services, police, and youth activities. You are responsible for structuring, calling, and leading meetings, as well as ensuring that interventions regarding young people in risk zones are coordinated and followed up. The assignment also includes working proactively and contributing to the early identification of needs.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have relevant education, such as a social worker or behavioral scientist, and who have experience working with young people and parenting support. You are confident in building relationships and simultaneously possess the ability to structure, coordinate, and drive processes forward. The role requires that you can switch between close work with individuals and a broader perspective where collaboration is crucial. You thrive in a role where you get to take initiative, think new thoughts, and contribute to development.
With us, you get a varied and meaningful assignment where you both make a difference in the lives of individual young people and contribute to developing preventive work in the municipality. We offer a work environment where you have the opportunity to influence, think new thoughts, and work together with engaged colleagues and collaboration partners.
Conditions
A driver's license is required, and some working hours may be scheduled in the evenings.
The position may be filled during the application period.
For employment, a certificate of good conduct (extract from the Police Register) is required.
We strive for a good age distribution and view applicants of all ages positively. We also strive to be a workplace that reflects the diversity of society.
Fagersta Municipality is part of a Swedish-speaking area in Finland, and we welcome applicants with knowledge of Finnish in speech and writing.
