Description

As an employee at Viken, you will be part of an engaged and positive work group of eleven people with varying experiences and ages. Viken works with contact person support (kontaktmannaskap), and this year we are also testing night staff acting as contact persons.

Responsibilities

As a contact person, you build a key relationship with the young people. You support them in developing independence and the skills needed to manage adult life. The young people may struggle with drug issues, mental health problems, neuropsychiatric functional variations, and other challenges affecting their daily lives. You motivate the young people to follow through with their individual plans. You discuss daily joys and sorrows, as well as other matters that may cause irritation or stress. You support them with practical tasks such as homework, laundry, cooking, and cleaning. You work on behalf of the social secretary and the young person themselves.

Night shifts run from 20:30 to 08:30. This means that night staff also meet the young people during their waking hours, engage in conversations, and participate in short activities together.

Staff receive regular supervision. Night staff participate in operational meetings and supervision during daytime hours every fifth week, from 08:00 to 12:00.

Qualifications

• You have a post-secondary education, e.g., treatment assistant or social pedagogue. Alternatively, you are currently studying to become a social worker, behavioral scientist, or similar.
• You have a genuine interest in the target group.
• You are curious, positive, and humble.
• You are patient and aware that life does not always go according to plan.
• You are calm and stable, and prepared for challenging situations that may arise at the residence.
• A Category B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles is required.
