Do you want to be part of developing and working in a school social team focused on helping students succeed in primary school? Sala Municipality is investing in a school social team based on collaboration between the school and social services, both structurally and operationally. We are now looking for a full-time employee for a one-year fixed-term position within Sala Municipality's school social team. This fixed-term position applies to the School Board.
About six months ago, the School Board, together with the Social and Labour Market Board in Sala Municipality, started a joint effort to strengthen the conditions for students to achieve educational goals, create a calm and secure school environment, increase student attendance, and provide support to break negative development patterns. The school social team consists of two people, one from the school and one from social services, who work together to create conditions for trust-building and preventive work at an early stage.
The purpose is to identify and work with promoting and preventive measures that can help students with problematic school absenteeism and other norm-breaking behavior at an early stage.
The school social team works operationally close to students, school staff, student health services, social services, guardians, and other actors. Collaboration with other actors is a central part of the work, based on the student's specific needs.
The team works, for example, to:
- Coordinate the support the student receives, both at school, through social services, and with other actors.
- Offer psychosocial support in various forms, motivational conversations, provide opportunities for social training, and support in creating structure in life.
- Support and guide guardians.
- Work operationally at the school units.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who have adequate education as well as experience and personal suitability for the assignment.
We see that you:
- Have a degree and experience in the child and youth field, such as special needs teacher, social pedagogue, behavioral scientist, or school counselor.
- Have knowledge of school operations, teaching, and adaptations.
- Have knowledge of social services' work with children, young people, and families.
- Have a genuine interest in children and young people and their networks.
- Have a B driver's license.
To succeed in the assignment, it is important that you:
- Can work structured and systematically, both in daily operational work and regarding documentation.
- Are a team player who enjoys working in a team.
- Are good at adapting your perspective and seeing opportunities.
- Have good ability and willingness to work relationship-building and are confident in conducting various types of conversations with students and guardians.
- Are confident in collaborating with school staff and other actors.
- Have a clear interest and motivation to work with the target group of children and young people with norm-breaking behavior.
