Are you looking for a meaningful side job where you help people move forward in life? We are looking for part-time career guidance counselors to join our team in Dalarna – and we welcome both older job seekers and retirees who wish to continue contributing their experience and competence.

About the role

As a part-time career guidance counselor, you work closely with participants who need support, guidance, and motivation to find their way forward. You help them explore their goals, interests, and strengths – and match them with education and professions that suit their prerequisites.

The assignment has a clear focus: to contribute to better matching on the labor market, strengthen the individual's position, and counteract a gender-segregated labor market.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Individual career guidance and coaching
• Mapping of competence and goals
• Matching with education or work
• Collaboration with employers and educational providers
• Support in choosing a path forward and increasing self-awareness

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is confident, communicative, and skilled at building relationships. You thrive in a role where you get to inspire, challenge, and support others to reach their full potential. You are solution-focused, structured, and have a clear goal- and result-oriented mindset. We see a great need for linguistic competence, particularly in Somali but also Arabic, so speaking these languages is a significant plus.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you need:

• At least one (1) year of post-secondary studies on a full-time basis with a passing grade
• At least three (3) years of work experience (full-time) within one or more of the following areas:
  • Team leadership with personnel responsibility
  • Recruitment
  • Transition work for job seekers
  • Study and career guidance
  • Processing of personnel matters (not solely administration)
  • Work with working life and labor market issues
  • Work with social and group psychology
  • Career guidance

Desirable qualities and experiences:

• You speak Somali (highly desirable)
• You also speak Arabic (desirable)
• You have a coaching approach and a good ability to motivate others
• You are structured, solution-focused, and self-initiating
• You have good digital competence and experience holding online meetings
• You have a strong local network and good knowledge of the labor market
