Job Advertisement: Officer at the Energy Unit
Do you want to contribute to the work at the Energy Unit to develop energy policy during an exciting time with significant changes and challenges in the energy sector, especially through the rapid electrification of society? Do you also have experience working with energy issues and want to work at the center of events? Then you are the one we are looking for!
We can offer a stimulating role in a dynamic and developing work environment alongside friendly and professional colleagues.
Responsibilities of the Energy Unit
The Energy Unit is responsible for preparing issues within the energy policy area at the national, EU, and international levels. This includes, among other things, regulation of electricity, gas, and heating markets, energy efficiency, supply of fossil-free energy, energy infrastructure, energy research, energy preparedness, and electrical safety, as well as the development of energy policy instruments, regulatory development, and government oversight. The unit is growing and currently consists of about thirty employees divided into two groups.
Your Workday, Sweden's Tomorrow
A rapid energy and climate transition is underway, with extensive electrification of society expected in the future. Competitive energy prices are central to industry and the economy as a whole. A deteriorating geopolitical situation and disruptions in global energy markets increase the need to improve energy supply security. The Energy Unit works on these highly relevant issues nationally, but also at the EU level and internationally.
As an officer at the Energy Unit, you will primarily work to strengthen the unit's efforts on current energy issues and with ongoing tasks for an officer within the Government Offices. This may involve handling questions and interpellations from the parliament and disclosure cases when documents are requested. It may also include responsibility for preparing policy instruments, government assignments to authorities, and producing government products for parliament. The work may also involve preparing certain materials for the department's political leadership and assisting in the unit's dialogue with external stakeholders. Examples of issues that may arise include energy preparedness, nuclear power, energy efficiency, EU work, and international energy cooperation.
