Administrator for the Energy Unit
Do you want to contribute to the work of the Energy Unit in developing energy policy during an exciting time with significant changes and challenges in the energy sector, especially through the rapid electrification of society? Do you also have experience working within the Government Offices or an authority in the energy sector, preferably with EU matters, and want to work at the center of events? Then you are the one we are looking for!
We can offer a stimulating role in a dynamic and developing work environment alongside friendly and professional colleagues.
The Energy Unit is responsible for preparing issues within the energy policy area at the national, EU, and international levels. This includes, among other things, regulation of electricity, gas, and heat markets, energy efficiency, supply of fossil-free energy, energy infrastructure, energy research, energy preparedness, and electrical safety, as well as the development of energy policy instruments, regulatory development, and government oversight. The unit is growing and currently consists of just over thirty employees divided into two groups.
Your workday, Sweden's tomorrow
A rapid energy and climate transition is underway, with extensive electrification of society expected in the future. Competitive energy prices are central to industry and the economy at large. A deteriorating geopolitical situation and disruptions in global energy markets increase the need to improve energy supply security. The Energy Unit is working on these highly relevant issues nationally, but also at the EU level and internationally.
As an administrator in the Energy Unit, you will primarily work to strengthen the unit's work with EU matters and EU coordination. The role includes providing support to the unit's employees in ongoing EU work and coordinating instructions for negotiation meetings in council working groups, Coreper, as well as the Energy Unit's materials for ministerial meetings and meetings in the European Council. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the unit's administrators and with the department's secretariat for EU and international affairs, the Prime Minister's Office's EU secretariat, and Sweden's EU representation in Brussels.
The position may also include responsibility for developing dossier teams for current negotiations and overseeing overall dialogue with the unit's authorities that support the unit in EU work. Depending on the unit's needs and the applicant's competencies, this position may also include responsibility for certain substantive issues negotiated at the EU level. Other substantive issues outside the EU area within the Energy Unit's area of responsibility may also become relevant. The work involves some business travel.
