About the Swedish National Audit Office
The Swedish National Audit Office provides facts about how government operations function. We review what government money is spent on, how effectively agencies work, and whether political decisions lead to what they were intended. This knowledge can be used to improve the government's and agencies' work and save taxpayer money. When there are shortcomings, we provide recommendations to the government and agencies to improve operations. Our independent position and the transparency we contribute to are important for a well-functioning democratic country. Our goal is for our audits to make a difference for people both now and in the future.
We also represent Sweden in international audit contexts and have development cooperation with audit authorities in Africa, Southeast Europe, and Asia.
