We are now looking for an engaged support assistant who wants to become an important piece of the puzzle in our team at Björkris service housing.

The Role of Support Assistant with Us

In the role of support assistant, you provide our tenants with support in all aspects of life. The goal of the intervention is to provide good living conditions and enable influence and participation. Your tasks include establishing social documentation and implementation plans. We work based on low-arousal responses, motivational interviewing, and clarifying pedagogy. The working method is systematic based on agreed processes and routines, but the work also involves a lot of freedom under responsibility. At Björkris service housing, three employees work, and you will be the fourth in the team consisting of support assistants and a support pedagogue. In addition to your colleagues, you will receive support from the HSL team and method developers.

Your Profile

You have a strong commitment to our tenants and are passionate about each user's participation. As a person, you are curious, attentive, and positive in your interactions. You can organize your tasks, are confident with social documentation, and have the ability to be flexible when the situation requires it. For us, it is a given that you want to work in a team that enjoys their work and collaborates unpretentiously to provide the best support to the tenants. You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, as this is required in daily work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

• has a relevant completed education such as nursing assistant training or child & youth recreation education or education that the employer assesses as equivalent

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience of working in housing with special services focusing on psychiatry
• experience and knowledge of working with MI, motivational interviewing

Björkris service housing is a residence with 10 apartments aimed at adults with mental disabilities who need support measures according to the Act on Special Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). It is important that the housing and service provide the opportunity for an independent life. Björkris service housing is located in a residential area with good communication by train, bus, and car.

For increased collegial community and knowledge dissemination, we collaborate between units. Therefore, part of the schedule includes resource time scheduled at equivalent units, i.e., other service housing and group homes.

Our Offer and Additional Information

We offer a permanent full-time position starting by agreement. The current schedule is to work days/evenings and weekends.

Within the Department of Individual & Family Care, all employees in Housing with Special Services and Support at Home are employed full-time but have the opportunity to reduce their desired working hours based on the needs of the operation.
