Staffing Unit

The Staffing Unit is a support service that provides staffing during absences based on the requests received from the municipality's various operations. We are a central entry point to Laholm Municipality for applicants who want to work as substitutes in the areas listed below. We offer specialized expertise in staffing and the recruitment process to the operations. We are a team that works together to provide good service in our interactions with substitutes and operations.

We are looking for individuals who want to work as needed in our operations when regular staff are absent. As a substitute, you make a significant difference in the daily lives of children and students, contributing to safety, learning, and good care.

In your application, you specify which operations you are most interested in: preschool, primary school, and/or after-school center.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements - Preschool

Job Responsibilities

• As a substitute in preschool:
• You create safety and support children's development and learning according to the preschool curriculum.
• You share responsibility with the team for care, play, routines, activities, and being a present educator.
• You contribute to developing a good learning environment and follow the routines that exist at each preschool.
• The work may vary depending on the needs of the child group and may change over time.

Education Requirements

• No formal education is required, but you must be at least 18 years old.
• Very good Swedish in speech, as well as the ability to communicate clearly with children, colleagues, and guardians.
• You need to be completely comfortable reading aloud to children, both individually and in groups.

Desirable Education

• Childcare education, pedagogical education, or ongoing studies in pedagogy, child and leisure, or equivalent.

Work Experience Requirements

• No formal experience is required, but you need to have an interest and comfort in working with children.

Desirable Work Experience

• Previous work in preschool.
• Experience with child groups in other contexts (association life, leadership, activities).

Knowledge Requirements

• Ability to create safety and engage the child group's interest.
• Clear communication and adherence to routines.
• Ability to collaborate in a team.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements – School and After-School Center

Job Responsibilities

• As a substitute in school and after-school center:
• You support students in teaching according to the teacher's planning.
• You contribute to safety, calmness, and structure in classrooms and during breaks.
• In after-school centers, you work with play, activities, and social development.
• The needs may vary between grade levels and may change over time.

Education Requirements

• No formal education is required for substitute positions, but you must be at least 18 years old.
• Good Swedish in speech and a good ability to follow instructions.

Important to Know

• We are looking for substitutes both with and without education, but educated substitutes are particularly sought after.
• Examples: teacher students, qualified teachers, retired teachers, leisure pedagogues, and childcare workers.
• This is because the competence is needed in the classroom and provides greater opportunities for more continuous assignments.

Desirable Education

• Teacher education, teacher students, leisure pedagogue, child and leisure program, or other pedagogical education.

Work Experience Requirements

• No experience is required, but you need to be comfortable meeting students of different ages.

Desirable Work Experience

• Previous work in school/after-school center.
• Leadership experience from association life or work with groups of children/youth.

Knowledge Requirements

• Ability to create a calm working environment and set professional boundaries.
• Good collaboration skills and clear, confident communication.
• Ability to follow planning and routines.

Other

• A driver's license is not a requirement but is meritorious, as we have operations throughout the municipality.
• We place great importance on personal suitability.
• A background check from the police register is required by law before you can start working in preschool, school, and after-school centers.
• You must be at least 18 years old to be employed.
• It is an advantage if you have the flexibility to work in different units and meet different groups of children/students.
• There may be opportunities for continued work during longer absence periods.
